Partnering With NC4K to Support Kids Fighting Cancer

Updated: Apr 28, 2023

Columbus, Ohio – Hunter Marketing is proud to announce their partnership with NC4K, a nonprofit centered on supporting kids who are fighting cancer. This partnership is a natural extension of the philanthropic arm of Hunter Marketing, the Madison Rose Initiative.

“In 2022, Hunter joined our long-time clients and friends, Romeo’s Pizza Columbus, at The Shoe to support NC4K’s event with The Ohio State Marching Band,” said Elspeth Paige-Sack, Hunter founder and CEO. “I’ll never forget that magical moment. My heart was so overwhelmed with appreciation for NC4K’s work as I watched the experience they created for kids fighting pediatric cancer. They gave these unbelievably strong kids a chance to be kids — to laugh and play and fill the entire stadium with palpable joy. After that, I knew I wanted to be a part of NC4K’s work.”

Elspeth approached NC4K to explore how Hunter could get more involved, which is when NC4K Executive Director Mandy Powell invited Hunter to join their annual Reindeer Run, an event that helped raise more than $64,000 for NC4K. The funds raised can cover seven months of mortgage/rent assistance, utility bills and fuel assistance for NC4K’s families.

“Fundraising events, like the Reindeer Run, are the lifeblood of NC4K,” said Mandy. “These experiences help raise awareness for our cause and secure vital funding for our programming. At NC4K, we offer comprehensive support to families who are navigating pediatric cancer. That includes financial support, emotional support and events for play, all of which eases the financial burden caused by a pediatric cancer diagnosis and gives our families a reason to smile.”

Hunter’s core values align perfectly with NC4K’s vision that no kid fights cancer alone. This latest partnership between Hunter and NC4K is one program of many under Hunter’s Madison Rose Initiative. Inspired by Elspeth’s daughter, this initiative represents Hunter’s ever-evolving commitment to creating a more equitable and prosperous community for this generation and those who follow.

“The Madison Rose Initiative is Hunter’s tangible commitment to our community,” said Dana Schmit, senior account manager and team lead for Hunter’s NC4K partnership. “It includes paid service days for Hunter employees, in-kind nonprofit donations and discounted marketing services for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, or DBEs. As a mom myself, I can’t imagine what these families are going through. I’m honored for the opportunity to support these families and lend my expertise to NC4K as a part of the Madison Rose Initiative.”

Hunter is kicking off this sponsorship with NC4K’s 2023 Gala, “A night at the Safari,” which will take place on Friday, April 28. While this event is sold out, Hunter and NC4K encourage people to get involved by making a donation and following NC4K on social media for the latest on their impact and upcoming events.

“NC4K puts an extraordinary amount of intention into every program and event they produce,” said Elspeth. “It brings me immense joy to expand our partnership and support their mission. No kid fights cancer alone — not if we can help it.”
