Dana Schmit is a seasoned marketer and public service advocate, bringing over 13 years of dedicated support to local journalism to her role as Director of Public Service Marketing at Hunter. With a background steeped in media, including positions at the Columbus Dispatch, Gatehouse Media, Gannett and USA Today, Dana has honed her skills in crafting strategic marketing solutions that exceed client expectations.

 

Drawing from her extensive experience, Dana approaches her role with a profound sense of accountability, personally investing in her clients’ success. Her category-specific expertise allows her to explore collaborative opportunities and implement best practices tailored to the unique needs of each partner.

 

A trusted advisor to C-suite executives, Dana possesses the rare combination of strategic acumen and hands-on execution. She is equally adept at developing high-level strategies as she is at rolling up her sleeves to ensure projects are executed flawlessly.

 

Dana holds a bachelor's degree in advertising/public relations and marketing from Marietta College, where she cultivated the skills that continue to shape her successful career in marketing and public service advocacy. At Hunter, Dana leverages her passion for making a difference to drive impactful marketing campaigns that resonate with audiences and drive positive change.

 

Dana's leadership style is influenced by her background as a collegiate soccer player, instilling in her a drive for excellence and teamwork. Outside of work, Dana is a devoted mother and relishes spending time with her family. A self-proclaimed aficionado of reality TV, she enjoys unwinding with shows like Love is Blind and The Bachelor.
